These trusted root certificates are only added to these lists after a thorough review by the publishing authorities to meet certain technical and security requirements. They represent identity and signature credentials with high security. These trusted lists are enabled by default in PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat and Reader. Therefore, documents signed by Zoho Sign automatically carry the “Approved” and “Verified Signature” tags when opened with these apps. If any of these trusted lists are disabled, you can enable it by following these steps. Open the Preferences tab in Acrobat or Reader and select Trust Management from the categories on the left. Depending on the region, select the appropriate option “Upload trusted certificates from an Adobe AATL server” for US, AU, and IN and “Upload trusted certificates from an Adobe EUTL server” for EU.
This allows Acrobat or Reader to automatically download approved lists from a regional Adobe server. These trust settings ensure that the user or organization associated with the certificate has achieved the security levels of this trusted list program. You can also download the latest version of the trusted lists by clicking “Update Now” under the appropriate regional options. If your organization has disabled access to trusted lists for any reason, you can also manually add the Zoho Sign certificate to your personal trusted list. Open the digitally signed document in Acrobat or Reader and click the “Signature Window”. Now, in the signature area, right-click on the signature, click on “View Signature Properties” and then click on “View Signer`s Certificate”. In the dialog box that opens, select the digital certificate in the left pane, go to the Trust tab, and then click Add to Trusted Certificates. Click OK and confirm again.
